[He watches her smile wilt and frowns, cradles her face in his hands. Still strong even if a dead man being so... alive, doesn't seem quite right.]

Shh... It'll be alright. It'll be alright.

[She wants to know what will ... Their daughter ... him ... But Alyss is ever the optimist. Even if she must convince herself, forcefully. She pushes a smile to her lips and nods] It will be.

She's a brave girl. [he knows who she's worried about at least in part, and hopes to god he is right about it.]

She is. [Alyss readily agrees] Intelligent and stubborn. [But she's just a little girl and ... she nods]

...as much as I would give to have it be otherwise, we cannot change her fate in this. [because as much as you know him, Alyss? He knows you. Loves that you care so much, hates that it hurts you so.]

[Of course he does. Hitting that nail right on the head. She will draw in a sharp breath, nodding, not letting it go for a moment before exhaling] Let's get you out of the rest of these clothes.

All right. [he agree's, softly, leaning back enough so he cab begin to pull off his shirt.]

[Alyss nibbles lightly on her lip, seeing the scars in full sight, she reaches up and lightly touches it again. She then ducks her head and presses a careful kiss by one before pulling away and off the bed. She holds one of her hands out to him]

[He watches her, careful, trying not to make her upset again and is surprised when she kisses near one. Gorlois takes her hand and stands when she moves off the bed.]

My lady?

[A rather large tub appears. She looks back at him with a smile, before quirking up a brow and looking pointedly at his breeches. Then back at him with a grin] I'm going to bathe you, my lord.

[Oh. Oh right. heh. Gorlois takes his boot and breeches off, slower than usual but otherwise there's not much of a difference. He might be grinning just a little. Hey if this is the afterlife? he's not going to complain.]

As you wish, my Lady.

[See her rolling her eyes. But she can't help giggle at the grin on his face, even if she quite notices that he is a bit slow.] Oh, I do. I wish it very much, my lord. [flirty, teasing tone]

[The giggle only makes him grin more. Flush a little, even (all that blood must have decided to come back after all). He moves over to her and kisses her.] I would not wish to disappoint.

[She leans over and captures his lips, before fiercely whispering one word against his mouth] Never. [For all he might upset her at times or frustrate her so much more. He could never, would never, disappoint her]

[He kisses her back, an edge of desperation almost in the motions. When he was home he so often dreamed of her only to wake to find his bed empty, except perhaps for Morgana who often found her way to his rooms to cling to him while he slept.]

You're so lovely...

[She knows, she doesn't quite understand but she can feel it in how he holds her. How he kisses her. Her kissing in return is also urgent, but urgent to soothe him. Urgent and wanting, if even just for a little bit, remove ... diminish all the pain and loneliness he had from the years without her

She laughs lightly against his mouth at the compliment. Flushing.

Three years later she still blushed when he complimented her. She didn't know what it was about this man that still had her feeling giddy and awkward as she had the first time she realized that she loved him. And yet at the same time allowing the space to feel so bold and knowing] Hmm. And you're just wonderful. [she said nuzzling the side of his face with her nose and lips]

[It wasn't all happiness, but he might never get over the fact she was here, and real... and that dead as he was he wasn't being ripped away from her to find whatever torment he actually deserved. Her laughter makes him smile though. More so when he see's she's blushed.

He didn't think he would ever stop loving her.

The sigh that falls from his lips is even somewhat contented.] I could only try to be so, my Lady Fair.

To me you are. [A smile flits her lips as she walks backward, leading him toward the tub, reaching her hand in to feel it still warm as soon as the backs of her legs hit the frame]

[He follows her, gently pressing kissing her lips, her chin. Gorlois could forget about bath's incredibly quickly, he could forget about most everything with Alyss to occupy him with.]

[He could and it would be so easy for her to do so but she was determined not to let him distract her. She was going to do this for him.

No matter how tempting he was naked and pressed against her at the moment. Drawingr a sharp, slightly shaky breath, Alyss pulled away from his questing mouth] Into the bath, my lord.

Oh. [pauses, to kiss her one more time, a cheeky smile on his lips.] As my Lady wished. [and he does as he's told, without too much effort sliding into the tubs warm water and sighing happily... not as good as alyss, but certainly comfortable.]

[Nibbling her bottom lip Alyss is momentarily distracted by watching him slide into the tub and then just reclining in it comfortably. Absolutely taken by that smile on his face and the look of contentment.]

[His eyes dip closed for a moment before he opens them again to look at her, almost caught in awe of the look on her face and then flushing faintly.]

Alyss.

Yes ... ? Yes! [she blinks. Right. Washing the husband. Alyss reaches over to a little table that appears, taking some gel and reading it over. Thankful that it's on a language she knows. Before squeezing it onto the sponge with extreme concentration.] I read this in a book. [She explains before kneeling next to the tub and gently rubbing the soft sponge over his body. In smooth circle, first at his shoulders, than lower, careful to be mindful of the newest scars]

[He chuckles deeply, eyes twinkling with genuine amusement. He was amazed she didn't tire of seeing her poor old husband... yet she still stared. He chuckled more when she mentioned she'd read it in a book, though it was far from unkind.]

I always knew you being so attached to those books would do some good. [But his teasing was short lived and his eyes drifted closed again, lips curling in a smile. It was such a simple thing yet it felt glorious.] Mmmn...
